Yeesh! That guy got what he deserved!

First, you're not supposed to SOAK the tires in it. Just paint it on and let
it soak in. And you are definitely not supposed to apply it inside-out!
Through the valve??? Yow! I even have some question about it getting to the
tread, since it has to go through the carcass, the belts, etc., to get
there, none of which FVTT is intended to treat or affect. It's meant to work
on the tread compound. A little on the sidewalls will have a bit of
Armor-All effect (but Armor-All will NOT preserve or restore the tread
surface). There are other similar and dissimilar products out there,
including blatant softeners (which FVTT is not). I'd really wonder if what
that "nameless team" was using was FVTT.

BTW, about "Rocky's stuff," I peddle the stuff, I don't make it. I'm just a
vendor. I'm glad to be identified with the product, but would not want
inventor/manufacturer Tom Vosnick to think I'm trying to usurp his effort
and cleverness. A chemical engineer I am NOT! :-O

>I've used Rocky's stuff on old tires with limited success. I've used it on
newer harder compound tires with better success than on old R1's. While
working the CART Houston Grand Prix, I had the chance to speak with one of
the tire providers representative. He told me that once upon a time a
nameless team was protested for having way too much traction. When they
broke down the tires at the vendor rig, Rocky's stuff came pouring out.
Seems that the competitor had injected the juice through the valve stem and
the tread was made much stickier while the sidewall didn't lose much, if
any, stiffness. I personally haven't tried the injection, yet, but will
this spring. Depends on if I want to use the same tire mounting service
after the test. ;-)
