I don't think the pictures really give an idea of how lucky Jim was.
The caravan that I was with started hearing about a Corvette in the ditch on
the CB about 20 miles from where the incident occurred. When we finally got
to the scene, we assumed that the truck and trailer had gone off of the
access road that you see Sam Strano's rig on in picture number 3 of the "In
the Ditch section." (in the upper RH corner)
When we stopped at the exit immediately after, Pat told us that Jim's rig
actually came down the hill that you see in the background of pics 3,4, and
5. I still don't know how it kept from rolling as this was a very steep
hill.
Glad to hear that Jim was okay.

Subject: Lightning/C5 ZO6 accident
As a few of you knew (and maybe most of you don't know), on the trip
home from Nationals in September, Jim Howard (#26 SS '01 ZO6 C5)
was involved in an accident in while driving his '00 SVT Lightning with
ZO6 in tow. You can read a short write-up and see the photos of the
accident if you go to the Picture Gallery within the Autocrossers Inc.
home page....
