~~See my part of post that referred to marketing weenies screwing things up.

 and the fixed roof version is called a "hardtop" (per their brochures and
 model designations)

 two different models
~~~Actually, Corvette is the model, everything else would be considered trim
levels or styles, either way Chevrolet once again prove themselves to be of
below average intelligence by not calling the thing what it really is...a
hardtop/convertable.
  I know that rules are rules but sometimes things just get out of control
and the fun goes away and that is why I haven't set foot at an SCCA(or
similar) event this season and chose to drag race my tow vehicle instead, no
thick rule book when bracket racing just safety things, besides, it's fun
beating people in my Buick wagon. Take my posts any way you want, the only
point is that I feel that the auto industry needs to pull thier heads out and
and and stop using confusing marketing, god how I wish that the car companies
were still run by car guys, where is Harley Earl (father of the Buick
"portholes"[ventiports])when you need him.
  I don't care for new cars, won't buy one and don't even like driving them,
the only ones that have got it right are German, and I guess since they built
automobile #1 thats ok, at least they remember what it's all about
