Talked to James with NOPI, the guy that gets all these things going at NOPI,
about the AX and the NOPI Nats (or whatever it's called) at the speedway in
Atlanta. He said they aren't doing it this year, and he regrets not being
able to do it. His explanation was one of insurance costs and costs for
medical service. They had so many racing entries, not just AX, that this
year they would have had to double or even triple the number of ambulances
for the event. As he explained to me, they have to have a certain
percentange of ambulances to racers and last year they exceeded that, and
the guys at the speedway told them if they wanted to rent it again, they
needed more medical personnel if they kept all the racing events. So,
something had to go, and since most of their customers are into the drag
racing, AX was cut.
