What were you using; a wire brush? Put a cutting wheel on the grinder and it
shouldn't take more than a couple minutes to cut the major part of the spring
perch off. Better yet, an acetylene torch will do it in 20 seconds, then
grind the remainder down smooth to the body. I think there was an article in
GRM several years ago that went thru the whole routine. Per???
