I'm a new subscriber to this list and have just
started autoxing this summer in C stock. I have a
question for all you first generation RX-7 drivers
(and anyone else who really wants to take a stab at
it). Whilst trying to drive as smoothly as possible
but at the limits of my tires, my car will invariably
enter an oversteer condition before it will
understeer. I'm trying to figure out how to improve
the car's balance. Currently, I've been running
approx 38psi in my front tires and 34 in the rears.
I've also been removing my spare (located over the
rear axle) and try to show up with less than a half
tank of fuel. My logic was to reduce the overall mass
of my car. Here's my question: Within stock rules and
what can I do to reduce my car's tendency to
oversteer? Does a car that tends towards understeer
tend to put in faster lap times?
