results and http://www.spec-rx7.org/~cashmo/cendiv/2000/indext.txt has
the indexed results. Notice that certain classes have zero for indexed
time and they show up on top. This is how they come out of TS98 and I'm
too tired to .dif it or manually calculate them. Denise and I got hit
by one heck of a lightning storm in Chicago on the way back. When we
finally got home to Milwaukee we didn't have any power (dead sump pump,
flooded basement, wet unpacked boxes from the recent move, etc.). "Zee
generator! Eef only I had zee generator in zee homme I'd be able to
logon to the net to retrieve the results!" Sorry, we giggled all
weekend about homeless French Canadian autocrossers. Yes, we now own a
generator. With the holiday we may not have power until sometime Wed.

Peru National Tour Tidbits….. (this is what you get when we're bored
while driving home for 5 hrs)
The Fessler woman officially proclaimed Roger (the famous) Johnson and
John Carriere “Team Viagra”; both trophied in SS by the way – 2nd and
3rd place respectively. Not sure if it's the tires or the sharp driving
but Roger's consistently cooking this year. Whatever it is, he's still
having fun and a big part of "the show". I also wouldn't have had
results without him (thanks again for the diskette!).
Danielle Engstrom (who just drove by) has truly been initiated as a full
time member of the fashion challenged SCCA field staff as she and the
others wore a lovely blue floral patterned Hawaiian uniform this
weekend.

More FS news – Brian Goodner made a rare appearance and Karen Krause
wore her usual skin-tight mini-dresses. John Thomas borrowed the
Budweiser dress on Sunday to run EPL. (?) Talk among yourselves.
The 5th heat parade to impound was accompanied by Dennis Grant’s bagpipe
music.
Jack Burns left early so that he could give his Mazda Protege to his
daughter before she returned to college. He's that happy with it.
Gary Godula and Tamara McDaniel have perfected a synchronized
visualization of the course walk; it’s a beautiful thing to watch. Kent
Weaver, however, seems to prefer to do the visualization solo (with his
eyes closed) and it’s not such a beautiful thing to watch.
Saturday lunch was great; BBQ sandwiches, goodies, and cookies rumored
to be made and packed by Kentucky region's own Drew Doukas. Pretty
strong competition for Nancy “the cookie lady” Jacobs who, as always,
handed out “his” and “her” cookies (with or without nuts) during trophy
presentations.
Pat Washburn had a heck of a weekend. The clutch on the big white bus
blew out near Chicago on the way down but he limped it all the way to
Peru, IN. On Sat he didn't get a clean run in and I heard he had to
replace one of those long lasting Neon motor mounts too. Figuring his
luck was running thin, he left early to avoid Sunday's Chicago rush hour
with the sickly bus.
The courses. High speed. 77 mph finish for Chris Dvorak's SS Rx7 on
Sunday, (Anyone else using the radar gun remember any others?). 3rd
gear for most. Lot's of gear rowing for BS Miata's, CS MR2's and DS
Neon's, (1-2-3-2-3). Simple to look at, not tricky (ie: more
interesting) Roger (the real) Johnson courses but they did allow us to
pump 300+ cars through without too many cones being hit. I think we
were done at 5:30 ish each day after starting at 8am. Quite a few
dramatic high speed spins although no one made it to the grass. See

Unofficially, 9 drivers from the waiting list showed up at the event and
were allowed to drive, bringing the driver total up to 304. Apparently
a number of non-registered, non-entry list people also showed up, hoping
to squeeze in, but were turned away because they did not turn in the
proper paperwork before the event.
Al Murrel, Ann Klem, Drew Doukas, Kent Weaver, Rick Swarts and a bunch
of other folks (too numerous to name) did a great job hosting the event.
Pat K, the article is half written but a little soggy. I'll dry it off
