I know exactly what you mean...about two years ago, (I
was 24 at the time.) I called my insurance company for
a rate quote on the two vehicles I was considering.
Believe it or not, it cost $50 LESS a year to insure a
78 Porsche 924 Turbo than it did for an 82 Rabbit. Go
figure.
