Hmm...  You couldn't connect subframes in this manner -- the cage has to
be connected to the main frame or to the unibody (that's in the rules).  I
don't think you could run such a stiffener across the car -- that would
argueably make it an extension of the roll hoops, so you couldn't weld it.
(You *can* legally do this with a bar, though, because you can weld in a
bar.)  You *could* possible do this lengthwise, but I don't see that you'd
gain much, except weight.

Don't know about that one, but it sounds logical.

Probably a good thing -- I have two warped brake rotors awaiting
replacement, a dying clutch, and just replaced the radiator after a close
encounter with a deer (and a closer one with a tree stump).  The old girl
needs a rest!
