I'm thinking of fabricating a roolbar from solid steel rather than from the usual steel tubing, since this would be a lot easier to bend without the danger of crimping or kinking the tube. I've asked S.C.C.A. what diameter of solid would have equivalent strength to a 1 1/2" tube, to be legal for autocross, but they didn't know... said no one had asked that before.
