>You can I suppose. After this weekend, however, I would recommend
>checking it by actually depressing the throttle pedal all the way
down
>from the inside of the car, not just yanking on the linkage from
under
>the hood. An older Z car went wild on course Saturday after
completing
>a practice excercise at our yearly spring warm up and novice
orientation
>event. It looked to me like some reckless goofing off, and when I
got
>near the car a white faced novice got out and said the throttle
stuck.
>His father co-driver was quick thinking and reached over to turn off
the
>ignition. They had taken out the floor mats, had two return springs
in
>good shape, and linkages looked O.K. Turns out his carpets were not
>fully fastened or glued down, and the pedal was hanging up on it.
Check
>those loose carpets techies.
