Info on Shifter Karts

Hey all,

All of you guys and gals who have had experience with these in 
autocrossing--What are your experiences with these?  Costs (the old 
fun/dollar ratio)?  Ease of use in autocross AND kart track events?  

They look like boatloads of fun and better bang for your buck than mod cars 
(especially those of us po' folk...).
