Personally, I stop at a gas station near the event site, and air them up to
above what I know I'll want to start first runs at once they cool down.
Then I air them down to first run pressures on grid. Then if I do anything
I bleed off the increase as they heat up between runs.

Depends on their size.
A 7 gallon tank will raise all four of my tires, 245/40/17f 275/35/18r from
40 to 46 psi at 55 degrees F.
