It makes a big difference in a Miata so, IMHO, you should shop around until
you find a shop that will allow you to sit in the car. I had a local shop
put mine on the alignment rack and align the car without me in it. Then,
while it was still hooked up, I got into the car. Granted I am a big guy
for a Miata at 215 lbs but there was a dramatic change in the settings.
Don't remember the numbers but it was ugly enough to lead all present to
conclude that a Miata should definately not be aligned without the driver in
the seat.
