I used AutoCad simply because I had it, but you probably don't
want to spend $3000 just to design courses.  =8<(

I recommend Intellicad - check it out at http://www.visio.com.
It's relatively cheap - I bought my copy on sale for $170.oo -
and it will do everything autoCad will do that I ever need.
