breakdown of VIN

          The 10th digit is the year model on ALL cars sold in the USA since 
          1/1/1980. It started in 1980 with A and they skip I, O, Q, and 
          something else lately that I can't remember right now. But for cars 
          and US-spec Capris the 10th digit breakdown is:
          
          1980 - A
          1981 - B
          1982 - C
          1983 - D
          1984 - E
          1985 - F
          1986 - G
          1987 - H
          1988 - J (skip I, guess it looks too much like a number one)
          1989 - K
          etc.
