Okay, guys...
I give up...I'm trying, and have been trying for the last two evenings, to
bleed the clutch hydraulics on my Alpine Series I. I've just rebuilt the
cylinders and, yes, I made sure that the rubber seals went in just like they
came out. There are no leaks at the cylinders or in the line; everything is
tight. Yet, I keep getting a spongy pedal when I first pump it. It does pump
up and works correctly after pumping a few times on it; a classic situation of
air in the system.
I've done this many times with my Tiger with no problems whatsoever. I could
do this in my sleep, for crying out loud! Beginning to doubt myself, I even
went back and checked the Alpine manual to see if there was something I was
doing wrong. Turns out that I'm doing it just like the manual describes and,
yet, the spongy pedal won't go away.
Have I missed something that is peculiar to Alpine hydraulics? Do I have to
hold my mouth just right? Do the planets have to be in alignment? Do the
damn Presidential elections have to be over with before this will work? As
usual, any suggestions will be appreciated.
