Whoops! Never mind! I overlooked that you have a shop manual. Hopefully it's
a good one.
Before bolting the head on, be sure to chase out all the bolt hole threads
for the manifold, water pump and side cover. Also chase the head bolt threads
in the block and use lubricant on the head bolts. Make sure the block deck
surface is absolutely clean and smooth.
If your head was significantly shaved, you may have to elongate the side
chamber cover bolt holes.
