The small inlet port are a compromise to get a decent tickover or slow running
behaviour. With the standard Hunter head you get more power if you make the
combustion chamber and the inlet port like on the Holbay head. This also
involves some mm. skimming to get compression up to Holbay level
The smooth tickover will of course be gone.
I would use the Hunter inlet/exhaust gasket. The gas flow you will get, may
not be accepted on a F1 racing engine, but this is family saloon engine.
