I just pulled the engine out of my SII today. The engine is a SI engine SN
B9008261 LRXM, I thinking of using this engine in my 62 Minx IIIC. The head
was shaved to the extream but I have another head. I have not used a mic on
the bore but with a ruler it measures approx. 3 3/16" this would lead me to
believe that it has been bored .060 or .080 over. Everything is clean and in
good shape the bore has no ridge at the top and everything moves freely.
Should I run the block the way that it is or should I rering and install new
bearings while I have it out? The pistons also are a flat top is this the
standard design for a 1500? I thought I remember hearing on the list or the
message board that the engines had dished pistons. If these are not stock
any Idea what the compression would be? Thanks in advance.
