The reason that I do just about everything myself is that generally, you pay
a lot of money, and then you are never happy with the result. Even when you
are happy with the result, 3 years down the road, the item will fail, and
then you will take it apart and find that corners were cut or specific
instructions were not heeded. Most of the time, you will find this with
bodywork, but even upholsters have "tricks of the trade" that royally piss
me off! I have never found a convertible top installation to be an unusually
rough job if you use an electric drill, sunlight, good adhesive, and
patience.
