Bill,
        I just had one done at a upholstering shop.  You drop the car off
in the morning, and pick it up in the afternoon.  No fuss, no bother,
perfect job, done the way it is suppose be done.  And boy does it ever
look nice.  
        My vote is do it your self only if you want the opposite of what
I listed above.  Yes, you have to pay for labor, about 5 hours X the
going rate= $$$$, but if you've got them, spend them.
