Or you might be thinking of a recent post of mine about "alignment studs"-that
is screwing studs (actually bolts with the heads cut off) into the bolt holes
on the block and then using them as alignments guides and weight holders when
installing a trans with the engine still in the car.  If, however, you are
installing the engine and trans as a unit, you don't need these.

Bill,
    Those bolts are a special dowel pin bolts. They have a press fit into
one of the block, clutch housing holes. I don't think I have any extra,
they are pretty hard to find.
