I ran into a problem with my '51 Hillman Minx Mark IV when working on the head
(it was a flat head). The areas around the studs had been pulled up a few
thousands of an inch. I had to have the deck planed. Edidentally after 40+
years of the head bolts pulling on it, the block warped slightly-not much, but
enough to require surfacing.

Jarrid,
For all the guys learning about rebuilding their engines, I didn't want
to confuse them. Actually, I didn't want them to go off on tangents and
extremes to modify what the factory provided. I'm afraid they may not
specify OEM quality/performance and accidentally get something
substandard which lead to grief. Oh well.
