Hi Scott, Rootes put out these "books" usually to cover options.
eg Power Steering, Automatic Gearbox.
Customers of a basic car may well ask "Where's my Overdrive Switch" from an
all too comprehensive book.
Usually if there were more than 8 pages the publication might have got a
card cover, otherwise it was trimmed back a little to fit loose inside a
handbook cover.

These items were allocated Part #'s for each language they were printed in
and an "Instruction Book" IBxxx number.
Check out the Publications Section of any loose leaf Alpine Parts List for
the extent.

The Vehicle Identification Schedule may show the same # used across several
makes/models.

eg The Automatic book for the BW35 was uesd for Light Car range models of
Hillman Humber Sunbeam Singer.
Part # 6600964 IB376/2 Issued 1963 14/16 pages + cover

The Hood one is interesting as it covers Alpine III & IV + Sunbeam 260. Its
contents look similar to what is in the Owners Handbook.
Part # 6601205 IB416 Issued 1964 8 pages

I don't have the Alpine Gearbox one, I would think it is very similar to the
Sceptre one covering the all-synchro box showing the revised location for
selecting reverse. Pages 3 & 4 describe non gearbox details.
Part # 6601169 IB405 Issued 1964 4 pages

Twin carb one is a bit oif a misnomer as it covers the Twin choke Solex 32
PAIA carb for Alpine III
Part # 6601062 IB389 Issued 1963 8 pages

Always check any handbook offered for the presence of these bonus booklets.

regards
Peter
