A friend of mine recently bought a nearly complete series II car that is in
boxes. It is the aftermath of someone who was going to build a "tiger".
Unfortunately, the title and the VIN plates are missing, so he can't ever
register the car in California without a huge headache. I figure that with
all the East Coast cars being parted out, there must be VIN plates and
Titles floating around. Could my buddy buy one of these parts cars off
some one and have the car shipped out west in pieces? The first piece to
ship would be the VIN plates and the title, and after that he would sell
the rest of the car back. (This is a long way of askiing is it possible to
get a clean title and VIN plates off a Series II car that is being scrapped
so he can get his car back together and registered.)
