Thanks for the advise Victor.
Drained as per Paul's instructions. What concerned me is that I thought I
had a nearly full tank and yet only filled about 5 liters (1 and a bit
gallons ?) of a container.
I then took a weight attached to a piece of string and dropped it down the
"petrol inlet pipe" and it clunked on the bottom of the right tank with no
sound of sloshing. The string, however, was slightly damp when i removed it.
I will indeed remove the tanks and all piping as you suggest though. Another
15 minutes work is a small price to keep skin and car in good shape.....
How about blowing compressed air back through the carb to blow petrol about
the balance of the pipes beneath the car ?
