Gosh, I always thought it was the toe in setting.

BTW:
One problem I think one might face with the bearings replacing
the bushes would be road noise tranmitted into the wheel,
although I would love to try a set for racing.

If You use a bearing, the chances are the steering won't return to
straight ahead position after turning a corner when driving Les
