What are you using on your lift test?
This should not be more then a 1/16". Try using a .030 & a .025 feeler strip
together or two .030's if you have them. What are your results?

Yup. Loosened the spring connectors clamps. I got them close finally.
I'll take for a test drive (again) and see how the idle is and the dieseling is
when I turn it off. Had a little run on last test. But the anti run on valve
tested correctly.
I may have them running a little rich now. But judging from the old 'lift the
carb valve' test, the engine dies which says lean. I have the needles all but
3/4 turn rich! Hmm.
