Vance-OSU in the 70s' provided a large supply of derelict  TRs&MGs' that 
nickled&dimed starving students and could be bought  very cheap. Shamelessly, 
I would buy, fix, and re-sell them, sometimes to  another student. Repeat 
cycle.
I got my first TR (a 1960 TR3A) in 1962 at the age of 18.
