You guys are doing great with identifying strange artifacts in my engine bay.
I have another one..
On the far right of the flat area that accommodates the battery and right next
to the vertical section where the pedal box and servo are attached there is a
hole. It looks like a factory hole and is drilled into an area that looks like
it was pressed for this purpose. As I removed the paint it looked like there
was some filler material in it that yielded to the scraper. The hole was not
visible until I stripped the paint.

Directly below the hole there is a small but fairly beefy tab that is welded
to the panel and angled. It is easily seen from the driver side footwell.
As far as I can tell neither hole or the tab have ever been used for anything.
Anyone have any idea what this is/was ?
