What year Toyota brakes work for a '74 TR6 and is there any extensive
work that needs to be done to adapt them?

I also have Toyota brakes and they work just fine. As Hugh mentioned you
may
need to do some more bleeding. Bleeders are on top? If the problem only
shows after driving check your wheel bearings and rotor run out.
