I found these hard to come by a couple of years ago, but there
are now some options. My DPO hack sawed mine to fit a CD player. I
restored mine to the original state, but had to replace the plinth in
order to get it back to the original state.
One option is to strip, heliarc the damage, then recover. This
will get you an as-new plinth but is a fair amount of work.
Roadster factory is now reproducing the center plinths, so you
can get a brand new one from them. Another option is eBay, where they
pop up used all the time. If you get a used one, plan on recovering it
because they are all at least 30 years old now, and are cracked,
peeling, etc. Also be advised that the later plinths have the center
hole punched for the courtesy light switch, while early ones do not. If
you don't want the hole for the switch, you will need to recover to hide
the hole.
