They're pretty heavy...I'm guessing around 500lbs.
I've hauled engines sitting on the sump. If the motor
mounts are still installed, you can put a couple of
4x4s under them. You may have to put a 2x4 under them
to keep the weight of the block/head off the sump &
then strap it down. You'd probably want to keep it at
the front of the trailer & use the rails at the front
to keep it from moving forward. Last engine I moved
we just set the engine/tranny in the bed of a
truck(with liner)...right on the sump, but we strapped
it down!
