John, Here's where I saw different instructions.
http://www.vtr.org/maintain/tr6-top.shtml
"Inside car, wrap front bow with stub, front, bottom, rear and rivet it 4
times. Make it look nice, snug only, don't pull this one." When I read this
I thought, oh yea, mine has 4 holes. No wonder there wasn't male snap studs
already up there. Too bad I installed my top before Mr. Gore invented the
internet. :) j/k
Doesn't matter really, but you might want try leaving your's snapped. Mine
seems to fold down better, less flap over. I also fold mine out over the
trunk, try to do it by the book. It's amazing how many different ways people
fold their top. We've had this lenghtly discussion before on list.
Now, only since the topic is already open, I'll share a variance we tried on
brother's 73-Six after much inspection of my 20 year old top on the 69. The
only problem I've ever had was the rear quarter windows are pulled away from
the top at the bottom rear corner. I've never been able to figure out how to
fold it down, by the book, and keep that quarter window from being bent
slightly at that corner. SO HERE'S THE CHANGE. We installed 4 snaps on each
side like a Spitfire. Works absolutely great! The quarter windows will fold
all the way over so that the bend is centered between the quarter window and
rear window, not right on the quarter window's seam.
Sloane :)
