Does your car have tubular headers?  This may seem a strange question, but I 
definitely smell an unusual odor when running the car really hard.  Not oil 
burning, but a definite "hot" smell.  It only developed after I put on a set of 
coated headers.  The car has 10,000 miles on it, but still has the smell.  No 
smoke, no drips.  I can't find the source either
