Hi All- I am about to replace my rear main engine seal. I am wondering about a couple of the details: 1.) Bentley recommends coaing the seal with grease inserting it into the seal housing and wiping away the excess. Do I coat all surfaces of the oil seal with grease or just the surface that interfaces the crankshaft? What kind of grease should be used? 2.) Any torque recommendation for the seal housing? I don't see one in Bentley. Regards, John Cyg. (Hoping to Salvage September and make it to the British Invasion) |
