        Jeff:

I made my own for $9. 1/2" threaded rod, a castle nut and
cleavis pin,
some washers and plain nuts. For the spring cross piece I used a
piece of 1" angle iron, drilled a hole in it, and slid it onto the rod.
Worked great. You only need to compress the spring about 1" or
so to
reinstall it.
To see how to put it together, just take the moss catalog to a
good hardware
store and pick out the parts you need that match the moss picture, and
put it
together. You will need to drill a couple holes and cut the rod to
length.

        Cheers,

        Vance

Subject: front end spring compressing

Hello,
While rebuilding the front suspension I have run into
a snag. I am having a problem compressing the spring
to fit the spring pan. I don't want to pay $60 for
moss motors spring compressor, i tried using both
external and internal compressor, they are not
working, I am trying to make one from scratch, anyone
have any ideas? i want to run a 12" long bolt up
through the shock tower but am worried once i start
compressing the spring it will collapse the shock
tower. Anyone have better ideas?

Thanks,
Jeff
