My earlier reply to this post seems to have vanished into the ether. The white(ish) 'gloop' was white bitumen (not asphalt as I said earlier). This was stored in a corner of the factory site in 1 foot square blocks and used for timing chain covers. If you know someone who uses this stuff and want to restore to 'original' - white bitumen is the stuff. Jonmac |
