For some reason this seems to be a not so uncommon problem. It's the
deceleration part of your story that throws me. Generally the vibration
would become more apparent under load. Some swear that yoke phasing is a
factor & others say the it doesn't matter. I would check to see if these
are indeed in phase. From what I have read on this topic this means
the yokes on either end of the drive shaft should be in the same
position. Sometimes rotating one end 180 degrees may have an effect, but
the fixed yokes on the drive shaft should always be parallel. Drive
shaft angle also has an effect. the drive shaft should be angled
slightly to the differential but in line , making sure a worn trany or
motor mount is not keeping the driveline straight.
