Bob---Do you still run with "standard" linings on your race car?
The original-style brakes on my '73 were all but gone at the end of some
of the longer autoX's. (such as the ones held at San Diego's "Jack
Murphy" Stadium. Making no other changes but to replace the organic pads
with those from "Metal Master", confidence was restored. I'm sure that
heat was still being generated , and would show up somewhere else given
enough cause. (If I could've driven faster!)

Truthfully - can anyone on this list claim that they've ever gotten the
brakes/rotors hot enough to actually cause brake fade??
My direct experience is that you really need to repeatedly hit your
brakes heavily just to get 'em to to smell hot.
