This was not a good weekend for me:( . I find I will have to be replacing
one of the rear differential mount threaded post in the TR6. After staring up
at it for a while it looks to me like I have two options. One being to machine
up a sleeve that would fit over the post with a hole the size of the drill I
need to use and slip this sleeve over the post and use it as a drill guide and
just drill and tap the post from under the car to accept a threaded stud to
replace the current treaded section. The other is to remove the gas tank and
cut an access plate into the sheet metal above the mount and drill out the
existing post from the top, machine up a replacement and drop it in and then
weld
the access plate back in. Neither one sounds like a lot of fun to me. Any
other ideas out there?
Thanks,
Marty Sukey
