Todd---It would be difficult to secure the nut with a cotter pin, due to
the entry angle. I favor the stiff wire, but with the force necessary to
loosen a properly torqued nut, I'm thinking any decent wire would do.

Apparantly the makers of the urethane mounts feel these are dense enough
so no metal sleeve is necessary.

There is very little "Yellow metal" in the diff. This seems to be what
corrodes with the use of the GL5. It looks like a lot of heat is
necessary before this action takes place. Given a choice tho, I'd go
with the GL4.

List,
I'm getting ready to put my diff back in. My input shaft had a heavy
wire that secured the nut from moving. Will a beefy kotter pin work in
it's place?
Also, I purchased a urethane bushing kit from BPNW. The rubber bushings
had a metal sleeve that went through them. The urethane bushings didn't
come with any. Do I reused them or pitch 'em?
One more thing...Is it OK to use the new GL-5 Castrol 75w-90 hypo gear
oil in the differential?
Thanks,
Todd
