Car will not start with new battery

I recently replaced the battery and now my TR250 won't start. I checked the
battery and it registers 12.6 volts but when I turn the key on, the ignition
light is dim and when I turn to start, nothing happens. I was able to jump
start but when I turn the ignition off and try to restart - nothing. Can
anyone give me an idea of what to check for ?
