Hi All,
As a brand new 1974 TR6 owner, I'm starting my tinkering and stuck already!
The PO just had local garages with no Triumph experience working on the car.
I'm finding a number of hose nipples just capped off and the Haynes reprint is
giving me no clue how they're supposed to be connected. My Spitfire experience
is no help here. Is there any place online that I can find this? No luck so
far. The car to my inexperienced mind appears stock except for Longflow air
filters attached to the dual Stromberg 175s. The issues are this:
1. The crankcase vent hose is connected at the valve cover but just routed
under the wheel well. It's dry, so little/no blow-by.
2. The hose from the brake booster is connected to a threaded fitting that is
mounted on the intake manifold. There is a 2nd 3/8" nipple on the fitting that
is just capped off.
3. The LH carb has a 1/4" nipple on top that is capped. Both carbs have 1/8"
capped nipples on the RH side which are capped.
4. Finally, there is a gizmo? (what is it?) connected to the intake manifold
by a 1/2" hard pipe. It has a 1/4" nipple sticking out of the top that is
capped.
As a result of the input given on my inquiry last week, I decided to purchase
springs, shocks and poly bushes from BPNW. They were delivered today and I'm
digging in immediately. Hopefully the experienced minds of the list can help
me again.
Thanks, Steve
