Fellow sufferers,
I had previously cleaned/repaired the hazard switch a couple of times in
the last year or so (based on the support of this list and Dan Master's
great book). When I had the switch out *again* last night, I decided that
part of the problem is a weak spring. I replaced the original spring,
which is about 3/8" long, with a slightly longer one that I found at a
local hardware store (1/2" long, 3/16" diameter, 0.023 wire size). The
hazard switch works much better now! The slightly greater force causes
better contact and will, I hope, mean less frequent problems with my turn
signals (especially after inadvertently bumping the hazard switch).
