The console shown on this car is the Amco console for the TR4. It's a one
piece unit that has an upholstered arm rest covering a small storage cubby, a
speaker for the radio behind that and a cigarette lighter on the front section
covering the shifter base. It looks like the lighter is missing form this
car.
There was somebody at Import Carlisle selling reproductions of this console in
the early 90's.
The correct console for a TR6 was a two piece unit. I believe the rear half,
identical to the TR4 piece by with black piping instead of white for the
upholstered section. It covered the driveline tunnel. The front half covered
just the shifter base, and included a clock matching the dash instruments.
My parts car came with one of these. The only other TR6 console I ever saw
was auctioned on eBay about 3 or 4 years ago for about $800, They're very
flimsy, and it's easy to see why they're so rare.
By the way, I've been looking for a new speaker grille for this unit for some
time. If anyone has a line on one, drop me a line. :-)
