I respect the S2000's performance, but must admit that I'm not exactly
taken aback by it's styling - mundane come to mind. Nor would I be
excited about having to run the engine up to 8-9k to extract the most
out of its performance. I believe I read somewhere that if you ran
through the gears and shifted at 6k instead of 9k, the 0-60 times would
almost double.
And then there's the attitude a salesman gave to me once when I was in a
Honda dealership scouting out the Odyssey van. The car roughly
stickered at 32k, but had two separate markups for "adjusted market
value" aka gouging. The sales-monkey acted like anyone who didn't buy
this car was an idiot - I told him I was not in the market, but would
rather have an M roadster, which was no the same price due to markups.
BTW Mark, I'll go along with the E-type and M3 (coupe) in a heartbeat,
and the Corvette if you change it from '73 to '63.

Nice reply Dick, though I suspect we won't hear back from him. If he
tries to send to the list I think it'll be rejected unless he
subscribes. Wouldn't that be a hoot!
Nevertheless, IMHO, the S2000 is a gorgeous car, easily my favorite
among the current little convertibles. But it'll never approach my TR in
my heart!
If I lived on my own, and money was no object, I could see myself having
one of each (and a spitfire and a E-type and a 73 corvette, and a M3...)
Let us know if the journalist writes back...
