Darryl,
Sounds like you're missing the adapter that installs on the speedo output on
the tranny. It's a right angle adapter. I used the same cable when I
swapped out my 4-speed for a J-Type o/d tranny. Consult TRF's parts book or
Moss. Seems like there's a repro available from Moss.

Subject: speedo cable

I have my TR6 running, but have a question regarding my speedometer cable. I
put a rebuilt "A" type O/D in my car, and tried to use the speedo cable from
my old"J" type. The cable attaches to the passenger side of the "A" type,
not
the drivers side.....Thus the cable is too short. It measures 72", but will
not work. Any suggestions???? Thanks
