I've received two replies to my followup post (I think I forgot to include
the triumphs list on that one) which convince me that I misled some people.
Summary: I found a toggle switch at the hardware store with on-off-on
behavior and six (not four) terminals to at least temporarily replace my
broken hazard switch. In a PS to the note I wrote:

One reply, from Dave Hebert was:

In my note I was referring to the toggle switch I bought today, not my
defunct Clear Hooters hazard switch. My apologies for the ambiguous
reference to "the switch".
